How to invite guests without Facebook
Published July 2, 2026
Facebook Events used to be the default way to invite a crowd. But between deleted accounts, dormant profiles, and people who never joined, a Facebook invite now misses a real share of your guest list. Here's how to invite everyone instead.
The problem with platform invites
Any platform-based invitation only reaches people on that platform — and only if the notification survives their feed. Guests without an account see a login wall where your party should be.
Use a link, not a platform
A plain link works in every channel your guests already use: text messages, email, group chats, even printed on a card as a QR code. No account required to open it, nothing to install.
The link should open a page with everything guests need — time, place, map, what to bring — plus the reply form. That way the invite and the RSVP are the same step.
Keep private events off the public internet
A common worry about leaving Facebook groups: 'at least it was private'. Use a tool where invite-only events are excluded from search engines and visible only to people with the link — private without the platform.
What this looks like in practice
With Planbuster, you create the event page, share one link anywhere, and guests RSVP without any account. You see who's coming, who's a maybe, plus-ones, and dietary needs — no social platform in the loop.
